Thailandia – Non si fermano le proteste, in coma uno dei leader dei ‘Rossi’
Uno dei leader delle camicie rosse, il generale Khattiya Sawasdipol, meglio conosciuto come Seh Daeng, è stato colpito alla testa mentre rilasciava un’intervista e altri nove combattenti sono rimasti feriti. Dopo aver sparato gas lacrimogeni, l’esercito ha circondato il quartiere di Bangkok controllato dai sostenitori dell’ex premier Thaksin Shinawatra. La Gran Bretagna ha chiuso la sua ambasciata nella capitale.
By BBC – Thai security forces have fired live rounds after moving in to seal a heavily defended encampment of demonstrators in the centre of Bangkok. Embassies were closed as protesters set fire to a police bus and gunshots rang out, amid fierce clashes that left one person dead in the capital overnight. Our correspondent says the area is like a war zone, with troops firing into a park as a helicopter buzzes above. The demonstrators want the prime minister to resign and call elections. Many of the so-called red-shirt protesters support former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, who was ousted in a 2006 coup. [Read more...]
